For clients who require a clearly defined project, coupled with certainty of cost, Design & Build contracts are becoming increasingly popular.  These contracts can transfer cost risk to the contractor in exchange for flexibility in how the product is delivered.  However, dealing with a development project can be daunting for some clients and they can gain comfort from appointing a construction professional to ‘interface’ with the contractor on their behalf.

Prior to the project going ‘on site’, the Employer’s Agent will tender the project and assess the compliance of such with statutory requirements, arrange for the appointment of the chosen contractor and draw up the contract documents.

As the project progresses, the Employer’s Agent will undertake site visits, administer the contract, review Health and Safety, provide project statements and cash flow forecasts and keep the client regularly advised of progress.
